Pasha was invited to a general meeting and casting, received with warmth and kindness, and almost all of the Lyceum actors expressed a desire to star in the film (all that remained was to resolve the issue of the theater’s busy schedule).
Therefore, the first cast of the film “Underworld” was as follows – Anastasia Glebova, Natalya Tselevich, Pyotr Volkov, Sergey Obozhin, Sergey Svetetsky, Pavel Latushkin.
The plot required filming how today’s heroes are tormented by vague, old, mystical events from the village… In this story, everyone is involved in a different reality…
But Pavel didn’t rush things and suggested a trial shoot on the theater grounds (specifically, the street and surrounding areas). Over the course of a couple of months, they filmed enough footage to finally decide that the project was moving in the right direction.
Pavel watched all the actors, their performances, their professionalism and returned to the theater to tell the actors that filming was starting in the village of Verkhniy Karbush, that it was time to shoot the entire script (from beginning to end), but a misunderstanding occurred (all the actors literally left the project, and Pavel Latushkin was thrown out of the Lyceum Theater).
The reason why this happened is still unknown; there is only the version from the director himself and a couple of witnesses who are reluctant to believe Pavel’s testimony.
Pavel still, 14 years later, remembers this unpleasant incident as if it happened yesterday. Pavel entered the building to voice his intentions, and some zealous actors literally threw him out, accusing Pavel of stealing a wallet from a woman’s purse, which was readily accessible in the theater’s buffet.
For Pavel, this was, of course, a shock, because this incident occurred at the very moment when everything was ready for full-scale filming.
